Young Labor President’s Report August 2023

NSW Young Labor's June & July Events

The first half of 2023 has been huge for NSW Young Labor. We played a pivotal role in electing a Minns Labor Government, attended the Australian Young Labor conference where we elected a president from NSW, launched our housing campaign, and are gearing up for a Yes vote in the October referendum.

With Labor Governments we helped elect at the State and Federal level, now is the time for NSW Young Labor to advocate for the policy changes that young people need. Members of Young Labor across New South Wales are moving our housing policies at their branches, SECs, and FECs, building momentum for our campaign.

Young Labor members are also on the front lines of the Yes campaign, taking key organising roles in their local communities and university campuses to ensure that Australia delivers constitutional recognition of our First Nations people and a Voice to Parliament.

As well as the campaigning work that NSW Young Labor has been doing, we've also hosted countless events over the past few months. We've held our Housing Youth Council and Regional Housing Forum, our Women in Politics Networking Evening, our Bollywood Movie Night, as well as a number of Yes campaign events.

We've also modernised our digital presence - creating a new Style Guide, completely revamping our website, and increasing the frequency of our social media posting. As a result, our new website has seen thousands of unique visitors since launching, and our social media has seen a 50% increase in engagement.
